Annapurna Base Camp TrekkingAnnapurna Base Camp Trekking is a spectacular short and medium trek. Although it has some steep climbs and crosses a few narrow bridges, the trek is not difficult. The trek to the Annapurna Base Camp traverses a variety of terrain, from lowland villages and rice terrain, from lowland villages and rice terraces to glaciers, and offers outstanding high mountain views. We can make the trek from Pokhara to Annapurna base camp and back in as few as from 08 to 10 days, but it is best to allow two weeks to fully appreciate the high-altitude. At Ghorepani on the route of Annapurna Base Camp trek provides a view of Dhaulagiri and entire Annapurna massive from Poon Hill.

Detail Itinerary
Day 01 - Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (900 meters) 7 hours by tourist bus. Overnight at hotel.

Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (914m.). You depart early for the 7 hours drive by tourist deluxe bus to Pokhara (915m.), 200 kilometers west of Kathmandu This city is full of natural as well as cultural heritage sites such as lakes, caves, temples of Buddhist and Hindus along with mountains. As you approach the city, there are wonderful views to the north across the hills and Phewa lake to the white peaks of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. This drive will take most of the morning, leaving much of the afternoon for a relaxing boat ride on Phewa Lake

Day 02 - Drive to Nayapul (1010meters)and trek to Tikhedunga (1570meters) 3 hours. Overnight at Guesthouse.

After breakfast your driver will pick you up for the two-hour drive to Birethanti. On the way you will be able to see the high peaks of the Himalayas looming in the distance as the road winds its way up to the starting point of the trek. Packed with your camera, warm sweater and some water you head off, accompanied by your guide and local porters.

Day 03 - Trek to Ghorepani (2840meters) 5 hours. Overnight at Guesthouse.

After a hearty breakfast it's time to pack your things and head off on the trek. The first stretch is fairly easy as you walk downhill into the valley. As you cross the river Burungdi Khola make sure to stop and admire this spectacular mountain river which at times is a peacefully flowing stream but can fast become a wild churning rapid. Then it's the most strenuous part of the trek.

Day 04 - Early morning hike up to Poon Hill (3210meters) and trek to Tadapani (2610meters). Overnight at Guesthouse.

Early morning trip to Poon Hill (3232m.) to enjoy the sunrise view over Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m.), Tukuche Peak (6920m.), Nilgiri (6940m.), Varaha Shikhar (7847m.), Mt. Annapurna I (8091m.), Annapurna South (7219m.), Annapurna III (7855m.), Machhapuchhre (6993m.), Annapurna IV (7525m.), Annapurna II (7937m.), Lamjung Himal (6931m.) and other numerous snowcapped mountain peaks. After breakfast trek Ghorepani to Tadapani (2650 m.) through the deep forests of rhododendrons, bamboos and oaks. En route, you frequently see waterfalls, rocks, wild animals, local birds and green scenarios. Tadapani is a small village surrounded by beautiful forests which grants you a magnificent view of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Fishtail, and Annapurna II and so on. Stay overnight at tea house

Day 05 - Trek to Chommrong (2140meters.) 5 hours. Overnight at Guesthouse.

The day starts with steep downhill through rhododendron forests. Leaving Tadapani, we descend steeply through forests and then the trail eases as we reach Gurjung which is the village of Gurung people, with an easy walk to Chommrong at elevation of 2140 meters. Stay overnight at tea house.

Day 06 - Trek to Himalaya Hotel (2920meters) 6.30 hours. Overnight at Guesthouse.

Leaving Chhomrong, the trail descends on a stone staircase and crosses the Chhomrong Khola on a swaying suspension bridge, then climbs out of the side valley. High above the Modi Khola on its west bank, the trail passes through the tiny settlement of Tilicho in forests of bamboo, rhododendron and oak. Climbing further on a rocky trail (beware of the stinging nettles) you reach three hotels at Sinuwa, at 2350m. It's common to find snow anywhere from this point on. Descend a long, steep stone staircase into deep bamboo and rhododendron forests. After it, there is debris of avalanches except during winter season. After short trek, you reach at Himalayan Hotel, the town named after the Himalayan Hotel

Day 07 - Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (4130meters) 6 hours. Overnight at Guesthouse.

Today we trek from Himalaya Hotel to Annapurna Base Camp (4170 m.) via Machhapuchhare Base Camp (MBC)(3820m.). Today the trail climbs on past the Machhapuchhare Base Camp, which isn’t really a base camp since climbing the mountain is not permitted. Since it is totally surrounded by mountains, this area is known as the Annapurna Sanctuary. Two hours trek from Machhapuchhare Base Camp takes you to the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) at elevation of 4130 meters. There, you will view unobstructed views of mountain scenery, which is very spectacular. Stay overnight at tea house.

Day 08 - Trek back to Bamboo (2345meters) 6 hours. Overnight at Guesthouse.

Today we are going back to Bamboo. We feel much relif to decend as we are going down to lower elevation, more warmer and definitely more chance to gain appetite. Stay overnight at tea house

Day 09 - Trek to Jhinu hot spring (1780meters) 5 hours. Overnight at Guesthouse.

After Bamboo, the trail goes steeply up to the Kuldi Ghar and now the trail is quite flat until you reach Sinuwa. You trek gradually descend to the Chhumrong Khola and you have to follow stone staircase for almost an hour to reach Chhumrong. The last part of the trail is steeply down to Jhinudanda. From the town you should walk down for 20 minutes to reach Hot Spring at the bank of the Modi Khola. You can relax at Hot Spring. Stay overnight at tea house.

Day 10 - Trek to Nayapul (1010 meters) and drive to Pokhara. Overnight at hotel.

Trek from Jhinudanda to Birethanti takes about five hours. Todays we mostly follow the riverside trail where we can see terraces and beautiful villages on both hillsides of the valley. From Nayapul you drive back to Pokhara which takes approximately one and half hours.

Day 11 - Drive back to Kathmandu (1345meters) by tourist bus. Overnight at hotel.
